First-season sire Byron recorded his seventh individual winner and second within a week on 16 September when his son Another Citizen ran out the ready winner of the six-furlong maiden at Ayr.
Settled towards the rear, the Tim Easterby-trained colt progressed smoothly from two furlongs out and taking the lead in the final furlong, ran on well to win by a length from Macho’s Magic, with the third-placed horse almost three lengths further adrift.
Bred by Sandro Garavelli, Another Citizen is out of the Marju mare Royal Rival, a half-sister to three Black type performers including Love Contest and Strategic Tactics – both of whom have produced Black type performers.
Byron’s other winners include three-time winner Byrony and Daas Rite, who recently added a second victory to his record.
