Following on from Zubbaya’s Listed success at Moonee Valley on Saturday, another Dubawi three-year-old joined his sire’s impressive list of black type winners on Sunday when Frankenstein won the 2000m Listed Premio Conte Felice Scheibler in Rome by two lengths.
Bred by Azienda Agricola Rosato Colarieti Antonio, the operation also responsible for consigning the Dubawi-sired top lot at the recent SGA yearling sale, Frankenstein broke his maiden in May at San Siro and returned to the same track to finish runner-up in the Listed Gran Premio d’Italia in June. He is the 22nd individual Stakes winner for Dubawi from just two crops of racing age.
Halling’s Group Two winner Opinion Poll finished a close up third in the G1 Prix Royal-Oak at Longchamp on Sunday, while eight-year-old Cape Cross gelding Able One proved that he still relishes his racing with a second place in the Listed Sha Tin Trophy in Hong Kong.
