Street Cry, one of the world's most prominent sires who has no fewer than 12 G1 winner to his name to date, recorded his 43rd individual Stakes winner on 5 February when his son River's Lane landed the Listed Birthday Cup, run over 1800m at Morphettville.
Bouncing from the barriers to immediately direct proceedings, River’s Lane led the way, kicking away in the straight to establish an unassailable lead. Ridden by Todd Pannell, the four-year-old recorded two-and-a-half-length victory to chalk up his first stakes win and his third in his last four starts..
River’s Lane was bred by Jason Carvill and is from the unraced Made Of Gold mare Star Made, a full sister to the G3 winner Cosmic Strike.
Street Cry's progeny have been going from strength to strength with his outstanding daughter Zenyatta - due to be covered by fellow Darley stallion Bernardini this year - recently awarded one of the highest honours in racing, Eclipse Horse Of The Year.
