The connections of Holy Bull's Holy Heavens must have known that their just-turned three-year-old filly was maybe a little bit special when they bypassed her conditions to go straight into stakes company on January 14, her first race after having just broken her maiden. Although she finished third in that one, she proved them right on February 12 when she won the Martha Washington Stakes at Oaklawn in impressive fashion.
Last in the field of nine for the first five furlongs, Holy Heavens began her run just before they hit the turn for home and then never looked back in becoming her sire’s 44th career stakes winner. This race also marked her third start on the dirt and she now shows two wins and one second on that surface.
Bred by Dr. K. K. Jayaraman and Dr. Vilisini Devi Jayaraman in Florida, Heavens Passport is out of the Stakes-placed mare Up and Above, herself a half-sister to G3 Stakes winner Nite Dreamer.
Holy Bull has sired a total of 92 lifetime Stakes performers and the earners of over $46.5 million, including Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo and champion and young leading sire Macho Uno.
