It didn’t take Vision in Gold long to set her sights on the lead in Santa Anita’s G2 Santa Maria as she was in front by the first quarter mile and never relinquished the lead in winning her first career Graded event. The four-year-old daughter of Medaglia d'Oro now shows three wins and two seconds from eight career starts.
Bred in Kentucky by Liberation Farm and Brandywine Farm, Vision in Gold is a half-sister to stakes winners Media Play and National Pride. She is out of the G3-placed Corporate Report mare Corporate Vision, she a half-sister to Puerto Rican Champion Devil’s Bag Copy, Stakes winner and G3-placed Rosie Dooley and G3-placed Zephyr.
Earlier in the Day, Medaglia d’Oro’s C. S. Silk just missed by one half-length of giving her sire his second Graded winner on the day while running second in the G3 Endeavour Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs.
Medaglia d’Oro is represented by 23 career stakes winners – 10 in Group or Graded company – including Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra as well as 2010 G1 winners Warrior’s Reward, Gabby’s Golden Gal and Champagne d’Oro.
