Frankenstein, a son of Dalham Hall stallion Dubawi, recorded his second career Stakes victory when winning with ease in the Listed Premio Corsa Dell'arno over 2200m at Firenze. Giving weight to all bar one of his rivals in this Listed Handicap he ran out a two-and-a-quarter length victor to add to his Rome Listed win of last season. He has now won six races with nine further placings in a 26-race career.
Bred by Azienda Agricola Rosati Colarieti, he is out of the Stakes winning mare Lifting and a half-brother to two Stakes performers including the seven-time scorer Lift Cape (Cape Cross).
Earlier in the day in Hong Kong, Frankenstein's paternal half-brother Luck Or Design (racing as Lucky Nine) ran an excellent race to finish a close second in the G1 Champions Mile behind another Darley-sired runner, Xtension (Xaar).
Dubawi, who stands this season at £55,000, has sired 11 Group winners from his European crops including last years 2,000 Guineas hero Makfi. This year's renewal on Saturday will see dual 2011 Listed scorer, Dubawi Gold bid to emulate him.
