Country Reel colt Absolutly Yes lands the French Derby trial, the G3 Prix de Guiche

Three-year-old colt Absolutly Yes, by Haras du Logis stallion Country Reel, won the feature race at Chantilly on Monday May 9, the G3 Prix de Guiche. A leading trial for the Prix du Jockey Club run over the final 1800m of the Derby course, Lawman last completed the double in 2007, but it was won last season by future G1-winner Behkabad (Cape Cross). Unbeaten in two starts this season, he holds entries for next months Prix du Jockey Club and also the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe later in the year.

Bred by Mme C Niederhauser Dietrich and sold for €29,000 as a yearling, Absolutly Yes is a half-brother to Stakes-winning colt Aornos, out of the Stakes-placed mare Semenova.

Country Reel, a three-parts brother to influential sire Anabaa, stands this season for €4,000 and sired the unlucky Poule d'Essai des Pouliches runner-up Baine in his first-crop. He has already sired two juvenile winners this season in France, a figure unsurpassed by any other stallion.
