Pyman's Theory, a juvenile filly by Darley stallion Exceed And Excel, ran the perfect trial for Royal Ascot, when showing blazing speed to make all the running in the five-furlong Listed National Stakes at Sandown. She was making her fourth start, and recording her second victory with her trainer Tom Dascombe now likely to point her at G2 Queen Mary Stakes over the same trip.
Bred by T Whitehead, she is a half-sister to Stakes winner Forthefirstime and from a speedy family that includes juvenile G2 scorer Nevisian Lad (Royal Applause).
The omens are good for Pyman's Theory at Royal Ascot, as her sire Exceed And Excel has a tremendous record of siring juvenile Stakes performers at the meeting. Since 2008, he has been responsible for six, which is double any other stallion. He is currently covering at Dalham Hall Stud for a fee of £12,000 and will be soon heading back to Australia where his fee will be $66,000 Inc GST, after a very successful season that included siring the dual G1-winning juvenile Helmet.
