Sooraah became Dubawi's 14th Stakes winner of the year on Friday July 22 when landing the Listed Valiant Stakes over Ascot's round mile course. A progressive four-year-old, she has been rising through the ranks in Handicaps, and making her first start at Stakes level, she made no mistake beating Primevere (Singspiel) by a head.
Bred by Charlie Mason and sold for 20,000Gns as a yearling, she is one of five winners bred from Al Persian (Persian Bold), a three-time winning mare from the family of Legal Case, the Classic-winners Love Divine and Sixties Icon, and Shamardal's current G3-winner Dunboyne Express.
Dubawi has sired 26 Stakes horses so far this year including the top-flight winners Dubawi Heights and Waldpark, as well as G1-milers Worthadd, Dubawi Gold, Luck Or Design and Havane Smoker. With 20 Stakes horses so far from his successful first-crop and 17 from his second in 2008, his current juvenile crop recorded their first Stakes performance earlier this week when Arsaadi ran second in the Listed Star Stakes at Sandown, beating all bar Kinetica who raced alone on the far-side rail.
