Khor Sheed, by Dubawi, was victorious in the G3 Premio Sergio Cumani on Saturday, September 24. The filly delivered a decisive win by two-and-a-half lengths over a mile at the traditional San Siro racetrack in Milan, Italy. The winner is trained by Luca Cumani and was ridden by Dubai World Cup winning jockey Mirco Demuro. It was the second year in a row that a Darley stallion is represented by a winner as Sajjhaa, by King’s Best, took the 2010 contest.
The three-year-old winner was bred by Card Bloodstock and is owned by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum. She is out of the Manila mare Princess Manila and is a half-sister to the G1 Prix d’Ispahan winner Prince Kirk.
Dubawi, sire of six G1 winners including 2,000 Guineas hero Makfi has been enjoying a successful year of 2011 as he is represented by Grade One winner Dubawi Heights, G1 Deutsches Derby winner Waldpark and the tough 2,000 Guineas runner-up and Celebration Mile scorer Dubawi Gold. The Darley stallion is now the sire of 20 individual Group winners and 46 Black-type horses.
