First Group winner for Ghaiyyath

Mandanaba lands the G3 Prix Vanteaux at ParisLongchamp

Mandanaba, a three-year-old daughter of exciting young sire Ghaiyyath, remained unbeaten when landing the G3 Prix Vanteaux in great style over 1800m at ParisLongchamp, becoming her sire's first Group winner.

The Francis-Henri Graffard-trained Mandanaba jumped well from the gates and made all the running, quickening in the straight to win comfortably, with last-time-out Listed winner Flaming Stone a length back in second.

Entered in both the G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and G1 Prix de Diane, it was Mandanaba's second victory after brilliant six-length win on debut. Owned and bred by Princess Zahra Aga Khan, she is out of the three-time G1 winner Mandesha, making her a half-sister to G1 Prix d'Ispahan third Mandour

Mandanaba was the first of two quick-fire impressive victories for her sire Ghaiyyath, as just moments later, G2 Dante and G1 Irish Derby entrant Nightime Dancer was an easy winner on his second start and seasonal reappearance at Southwell. As the first Classics of the year draw closer, Ghaiyyath has a number of exciting prospects to look forward to, including Charlie Appleby's unbeaten colt Opera Ballo, who has a leading chance in the G1 2,000 Guineas.
