New Stakes winner for Cracksman

Oberer strikes at Listed level in Italy

Oberer, a three-year-old son of Cracksman, won his first Stakes race at his first attempt on 26 December when landing the Listed Premio Piazza dei Miracoli. Run over 2200m at Pisa in Italy, he was winning his third race in five career starts with his near four-length triumph.

Bred by Societa Agricola C.I.T.A.I. Spa, he is a half-brother to Italian Stakes winner Ornais and out of the Group-placed mare Oryetta.

Cracksman, who is standing this season at a fee of £12,500, has sired 10 Stakes winners including the great Ace Impact, unbeaten in six starts including the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and Prix du Jockey Club. This season he has also sired the Group performers Diamond Crown, Sea Of Thieves, Shembala, Panthera and Danielle.
