Impressive new winner for Earthlight

Thordis easily lands one-mile maiden at Pau, France

First-season sire Earthlight added a new winner to his record on Thursday, 5 December when his daughter Thordis took the one-mile maiden at Pau in eye-catching fashion.

She was settled in third position during the early stages and once turning for home, quickened up extremely impressively to take the lead and was eased down when crossing the line three and a half lengths ahead of the rest.

Thordis was bred in France by S.C.A. Elevage De Tourgeville Et Al and is out of the Teofilo mare Tortsanlottie, herself a half-sister to G2 winner and G1 placegetter Dream Peace, whose own daughter Soul Sister won last year’s Oaks at Epsom.

Earthlight has made a very promising start to his stud career, becoming the fastest stallion from the Shamardal line to sire a Group winner in Prix de Cabourg heroine Daylight, who was also placed in the G1 Prix Morny and G1 Cheveley Park.

Earthlight will stand the 2025 season at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €12,500, Oct 1, SLF.
