Wolf Of Badenoch was an impressive new winner for first-season sire Pinatubo, as he came from last to first to score comfortably by a length and a half on debut at Doncaster, on Sunday, 16 June.
The juvenile colt, who is trained by Hugo Palmer, was dropped in to the rear of the field early on by Jamie Spencer, travelling well he was switched in for a clear run in the final two furlongs and made good headway to finish strongly in the seven furlong maiden event.
Owned and bred by Mrs Fitri Hay, Wolf Of Badenoch is the second foal out of the twice-winning Galileo mare, Miss Latin, herself a half-sister to G1 Irish Oaks winner, Even So. They are daughters of Breeze Hill who is a half-sister to G1 Derby winner, Dr Devious, Champion Sprinter, Archway and G3 scorer, Royal Court.
Pinatubo was himself an unbeaten Champion two-year-old and the winner of three G1 races (Dewhurst Stakes, National Stakes and Prix Jean Prat). He is now the sire of two winners, including York scorer, Andesite.
