Following a convincing last-out win in the Listed Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, Big Evs stepped up in class in the G3 Molecomb Stakes on 2 August, but the final outcome was exactly the same as he made all the running for the win.
Blue Evs broke sharply out of the stalls and quickly made the lead. He maintained that position throughout and then fought off a late bid by the runner-up for a well-earned victory.
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, Big Evs is out of the Oasis Dream mare Hana Lina, herself a daughter of G1-winning Champion Queen’s Logic. He is the fourth winner out of the mare.
Blue Point is off to an amazing start at stud and is currently the leading first-season sire in Europe with 23 winners. He has sired two additional Listed winners in Rosallion, winner of the Pat Eddery Stakes, also at Royal Ascot, as well as Rose Bowl Stakes winner Action Point, along with Stakes-placed Storm Miami.
