Blue Point’s juvenile daughter Storm Miami, made a promising start to her career when she got up in the final strides to win by a short head on her racecourse debut at Naas in Ireland on Saturday, 8 July.
The filly who is trained by Ger Lyons, raced prominently on the outside, pushed along by Colin Keane with two furlongs to run, she then picked up well in the final furlong and snatched the five furlong contest in the dying strides.
Bred by JC Bloodstock & Goodwill Bloodstock, Storm Miami was a €300,000 Goffs Orby yearling purchase. She is the first foal out of the Stakes-placed mare Cosmic Love (Sea The Stars).
Blue Point, a three-time Royal Ascot winner, has had a terrific start to his new career at stud. He has now sired 16 individual winners from his first crop, which include Big Evs who was his first Stakes winner after an impressive three-length victory in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot.
