Never Ending Story, a three-year-old daughter of Dubawi, got her season off to an impressive start when landing the G3 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes over seven furlongs at Leopardstown in Ireland on Sunday, 2 April. Recording her third career success this was also Never Ending Story's second Group success having last year won the G3 Silver Flash Stakes.
Trained by Aidan O’Brien, the filly was settled in mid-field by Ryan Moore, she began to make headway with two furlongs to run. Inside the final furlong Never Ending Story got her head in front and went on to a comfortable two-and-a-half length victory.
Never Ending Story holds a fist of G1 entries including the G1 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket and G1 Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh.
Bred by Coolmore, Never Ending Story is the first foal out of G1 Belmont Oaks winner Athena, herself a half-sister to G1 Irish Oaks heroine Bracelet and G2-winning filly Wading.
Champion sire, Dubawi has so far sired eight Group winners this year. Last weekend his multiple G1-winning son Lord North landed his third consecutive G1 Dubai Turf at Meydan.
