Victory Dance, a juvenile son of super-sire Dubawi, added a first Stakes victory to his c.v. on his third start when he put up a smart performance to land the 7f Listed Denford Stakes at Newbury on Saturday, 13 August.
The Charlie Appleby-trained colt sat handily throughout before stretching out to lead comfortably under a hands and heels ride by William Buick to win by a one-and-a-quarter lengths. Victory Dance holds several big race entries, including G2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, G1 National Stakes at the Curragh and G1 Dewhurst Stakes (Newmarket).
Bred by Airlie Stud, Victory Dance was a 700,000gns Tattersalls December Foal Sales purchase by Godolphin. He is out of winning-mare, Dane Street (Street Cry), herself a half-sister to Intense Focus, winner of the G1 Dewhurst Stakes. Victory Dance is a half-brother to G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes heroine Skitter Scatter and Group-performer, Data Dependent.
Dubawi is having a tremendous season having so far sired 20 individual Group winners, five have won at the highest level, including 2,000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes hero Coroebus who lines up tomorrow in the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville.
