A very successful week for the Darley stallions continued on Friday, 22 July when Iffraaj’s son Reshabar posted a gutsy win in the one-mile Listed Prix Jacques de Bremond at Vichy.
The five-year-old entire was settled in mid division under Mickael Barzalona before moving up to lead the runners choosing the centre of the track as they entered the home straight. Reshabar kept to his task superbly to win by a head.
Reshabar, also winner of the Listed Prix de Montrout and third in last year’s G3 Prix Bertrand du Breuil, was bred in France by Konzept Real. He is out of the winning Tamayuz mare Rait, herself a half-sister to Iffraaj’s useful daughter Nathra, who won the G3 Nell Gwyn and placed in the G1 Fillies’ Mile, G1 French 1,000 Guineas and G1 Sun Chariot Stakes.
Iffraaj is sire of 11 G1 winners to date including fellow Darley stallion Ribchester and leading sire Wootton Bassett. He is sire of 11 Black Type performers in 2022, headed by recent G2 Prix Eugene Adam winner and G1 St James’s Palace Stakes third My Prospero.
