Coroebus adds a second G1 at Royal Ascot

Son of Dubawi lands the St James’s Palace Stakes over a mile; Dubai Future adds a second Stakes winner for Dubawi in the Wolferton Stakes

Dubawi’s brilliant three-year-old son Coroebus landed his second G1 of the season with a thrilling triumph in the St James’s Palace Stakes. Held up midfield from his low draw, the slow early pace did not suit and he was keen under jockey William Buick. Rounding the bend he had to wait for the gap to appear, and when it did along the rails he made smooth headway before holding on late to record a head victory, with Iffraaj's son My Prospero a close third.

Coroebus has now won four of his five career starts including a brilliant victory at Newmarket in the 2,000 Guineas over stablemate Native Trail.

A Godolphin homebred, Coroebus is the second foal of Teofilo’s G3-winning daughter First Victory, who is a daughter of bluehen Eastern Joy and a half-sister to five Stakes winners including dual G1 Dubai World Cup hero Thunder Snow.

Dubai Future easily wins the Wolferton Stakes

The day had not finished for Dubawi and his son Dubai Future became his second Stakes winner of the day in the Wolferton Stakes. Trained by Saeed bin Suroor, the six-year-old appreciated the quick pace and fast going to win easily by three lengths, in the process recording his third Stakes victory.

Another Godolphin homebred, Dubai Future is a son of the Group-winning Street Cry mare Anjaz, who hails from the extended family of the 2020 Derby-winning sire Nathaniel.

Dubawi has sired a world leading 22 Stakes winners in 2022 including Dubai G1 winner Lord North and French Classic hero Modern Games. He currently sits close to two notable landmarks having sired 49 individual G1 winners and 149 individual Group winners.
