First-season sire Cracksman has made a very impressive start to his stud career and on Friday, 10 June he sired his fifth individual winner when Dance In The Grass won in impressive fashion at Sandown.
Very smartly away under Silvestre de Sousa, Dance In The Grass was settled in second during the early stages of the seven-furlong contest. Once asked to quicken, she picked up well to take the lead and kept to her task superbly, winning by two lengths.
Trained by Charlie and Mark Johnston, Dance In The Grass runs in the colours of Jaber Abdullah and was bred by Minster Stud and Mrs H Dalgety.
She is out of the Stakes-placed Sir Percy mare Dance The Dream, herself a daughter of Oaks third and Black Type winner Shadow Dancing.
World and European Champion Cracksman, the best by Frankel, has now sired five winners from just nine runners.
Also on Friday, Dubawi added a new Stakes winner to his record when Valiant Prince landed the feature race at York, the Listed Ganton Stakes.
Charlie Appleby’s charge was settled just off the early pace, before coming with an excellent run down the home straight to win easily by four lengths.
Valiant Prince is one of three winners from three foals to race out of G1 Matron Stakes winner Chachamaidee, also dam of G3 winner Klassique.
Dubawi has now sired 22 individual Stakes winner this year, including the British and French Guineas winners Coroebus and Modern Games.
