Master Of The Seas, a four-year-old son of Dubawi, was back to his winning ways on Tuesday, 12 April when landing the G3 Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket. He broke sharply and settled mid-pack during the early going in the nine furlong contest while waiting for running room. He got clear with about two furlongs remaining and quickened up when asked by jockey William Buick to go on and win by just over a length.
The win was his third Group victory after capturing the G2 Superlative Stakes on Newmarket’s July course as a juvenile, as well as last year's G3 Craven Stakes at this meeting. He was also second in last year's G1 2000 Guineas and third in the G2 Joel Stakes, both at Newmarket.
Master Of The Seas is one of eight winners bred by Classic-placed Danehill mare Firth Of Lorne. Four of these have won at Stakes level including Classic-winner Falls Of Lora, who is herself the dam of G1 winners Cascadian (New Approach) and Albahr (Dubawi).
Dubawi is the sire of 149 individual Group winners, fourth all-time and unmatched by any active stallion. Master Of The Seas is his eleventh Group winner of 2022 - more than any other stallion - a list which also includes G1 Dubai Turf hero Lord North, Lazuli, Naval Crown, Creative Flair and Royal Fleet.
