Eastern World, a half-brother to Dubai World Cup hero Thunder Snow, landed his first Group race on Saturday, 5 March when winning the G3 Mahab Al Shimaal. The son of Dubawi tracked the leaders in the 1200m dirt contest before asserting in the straight to win by one-and-three-quarter lengths.
Initially trained by Charlie Appleby and sold last season in Godolphin’s Racing In Dubai sale, he was recording his third career victory and first for new trainer Ahmad bin Harmash.
Bred by Godolphin, Eastern World is a son of Eastern Joy, who has now produced six Stakes winners from her first six foals. They include Thunder Snow, G2-winning juvenile Ihtimal and Classic winner Winter Lightning (both by Shamardal) plus G3 Oh So Sharp Stakes heroine First Victory, who is herself dam of last season’s high-class juvenile Coroebus (by Dubawi).
Dubawi has now sired 147 individual Group winners, fourth all-time and unmatched by any active stallion. Six have won in 2022 including Lazuli, Naval Crown, Creative Flair, Royal Fleet, plus Desert Wisdom earlier in the afternoon.
