Night Of Thunder sired his 13th individual Stakes winner this year, when his four-year-old son Night Tornado landed the Listed Prix du Grand Camp at Lyon- Parilly on Monday, 8 November.
The Krzysztof Ziemianski-trained colt battled on gamely in the final furlong, just getting his neck in front on the line in the hands of Stefano Mura.
Champion three-year-old in Poland last year, this was Night Tornado’s first Stakes win having finished a close third on his last outing in the Listed Prix du Carrousel at Deauville in August.
Bred by Haras De La Huderie, Night Tornado is out of the Sea The Stars mare Tornadea, herself a daughter of G3 winner Girouette.
Night Of Thunder has sired an impressive 19% Stakes winners to runners from his first crop, better than both his sire Dubawi and broodmare sire Galileo. His 13 Stakes winners this year are led by G1 winners Thundering Nights and Kukeracha.
