Teofilo’s globetrotting son Twilight Payment added another Group victory to his C.V. on Friday, 13 August when landing the G3 Irish St Leger Trial. The winner of last season’s Melbourne Cup, he was recording his first win of 2021 with his one-and-three-quarter length triumph over Princess Zoe.
The evergreen eight-year-old has now won nine career races with prize money in excess of €3.3M.
Bred by Jim Bolger, Twilight Payment is out of the winning Oasis Dream mare Dream On Buddy, a half-sister to Royal Ascot G2 winner Banimpire. Dream On Buddy has also produced the G2-placed juvenile Bandiuc Eile (New Approach).
Teofilo has sired 20 Stakes performers in 2021 including thrilling G1 Ascot Gold Cup winner Subjectivist, who produced the performance of the meeting when scoring by five lengths and recording a Timeform race rating of 130.
