Night Of Thunder sired a new Stakes winner on Saturday, 22 May when his three-year-old daughter Sopran Basilea struck in the Listed Premio Mario Incisa. Run over 2000m at Milan in Italy, she had little trouble in recording a two-length success, taking her career total to two victories from four starts.
Bred in Ireland by Aidan Sexton, Sopran Basilea is a daughter of the King’s Best mare Kathy Best, who is a half-sister to three Stakes winners including Champion Kathy Dream.
Sopran Basilea was completing a four-timer for her sire Night Of Thunder that included impressive handicap victories for Raadobarg at Haydock and Global Storm at Newmarket.
Night Of Thunder has now sired 20 individual Stakes winners including the imperious three-year-old filly Suesa, who now heads to Royal Ascot for the G1 Commonwealth Cup after a brace of G3 sprint triumphs in France.
