The second meeting of the 2021 Dubai World Cup Carnival saw yet more success for Dubawi, who sired two new Black Type winners in Soft Whisper and Ya Hayati.
Ya Hayati led home an incredible 1-2-3-4-5-6 for Godolphin and a 1-2 for his sire when sweeping home to win the 10-furlong Listed Zabeel Turf.
Settled in mid-division under Mickael Barzalona, Charlie Appleby’s charge was asked to quicken three furlongs out and taking the lead inside the final furlong, ran on well to win by a length and a quarter.
Ya Hayati is the first foal to race out of Godolphin’s dual G1 winner Wedding Toast, herself a daughter of US-based Darley stallion Street Sense.
Later on the card, the UAE 1,000 Guineas saw Dubawi’s daughter Soft Whisper simply demolish her opponents as she stormed to a seven-length win in the one-mile contest on the dirt.
Tracking the leaders under Frankie Dettori, the Saeed bin Suroor-trained filly eased to the front three furlongs out and soon opened up a wide lead, moving further and further clear to eventually win by seven lengths.
This was Soft Whisper’s fourth career win from six starts, including the UAE 1,000 Guineas trial earlier this month. She finished second on her remaining starts.
She is out of the winning Sea The Stars mare Placidia, a half-sister to multiple G2 winner Policy Maker and fellow G2 winner Puskin. They are from the family of multiple G1 winner Persian King.
Dubawi now has three Stakes winners and four Stakes performers to his name this month alone.
