After siring a brace of Group winners on Saturday, 11 October through One Ruler and Almanaar, Dubawi added another Stakes winner a day later when Onassis won at Goodwood. Already a Listed winner in 2020, Onassis wasn’t hard pressed to record a half-length victory in the October Fillies’ Stakes, run over seven furlongs.
Bred by C O P Hanbury and a 200,000gns yearling, Onassis is a half-sister to G1 Breeders’ Cup winner Line Of Duty and out of the G1 1,000 Guineas second Jacqueline Quest.
Dubawi has sired 21 individual Stakes winners this season including three who have struck at the highest level. Ghaiyyath is the world’s highest-rated horse after victories in the Eclipse and Coronation Cup, Lord North won the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot and Space Blues landed the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.
