What’s Up, a first-crop son of Haras du Logis resident Bow Creek, made a winning debut when taking a maiden contest over 1000m at Baden-Baden on Sunday, 24 May. Despite the event developing into essentially a match race due to some late non-runners, the two-year-old colt travelled comfortably throughout, getting up on the line to beat his opponent by a short head.
Bred by Patrick Chedeville, What’s Up is the second foal out of the winning Bahamian Bounty mare Perfect Bounty. She is out of a half-sister to the Listed Jebel Ali Sprint victor Take Ten and the extended family of G3 Horris Hill hero Peak To Creek and dual Group winner and Group 1 performer Mikki Charm.
Bow Creek, by the late great Shamardal, was a dual G2 winner at three taking both the G2 Solonaway Stakes and G2 Celebration Mile, which he won in a faster time than both Raven’s Pass and Cape Cross. A stint in Australia also yielded a further Group win in the G2 Peter Young Stakes over nine furlongs.
