The feature race at Meydan on Thursday, 27 February was the Nad al Sheba Trophy and the Darley stallions past and present utterly dominated the G3 contest with Dubawi siring the first, second and fourth and the late Poet’s Voice responsible for the third.
Secret Advisor, coming into the race off the back of a convincing Listed win over the same course and distance, was settled in second under William Buick while fellow Godolphin runner Gifts Of Gold was in the lead.
As the field quickened for home, Secret Advisor soon responded to take up the running and was never seriously challenged, finishing a length and a quarter ahead of his paternal half-brother Dubai Future, who was the same distance in front of Dubai Horizon. Dubhe, another son of Dubawi, completed a Godolphin 1-2-3-4.
Secret Advisor was bred by Haras de Saint Pair and is out of the Group-winning Galileo mare Sub Rose, also dam of Shamardal’s G2 winner and G1 Champion Stakes third Subway Dancer.
Dubawi stands at Dalham Hall Stud alongside his sons Too Darn Hot and Postponed.
