Dubawi sired a new juvenile Group winner on Friday, 4 October when his son King’s Command easily landed the G3 Prix Thomas Bryon at Saint-Cloud. Sent straight to the front under jockey Mickael Barzelona, he was challenged in the straight by the fellow Charlie Appleby-trained Royal Crusade (Shamardal) but ran on really well beat that rival by three and a half lengths.
Hailing from a top Australian family, King’s Command is a half-brother to G1 performer Albrecht, with his dam O’Giselle being a sister to Champion performer and sire Lonhro.
King’s Command becomes Dubawi’s 24th Group winner of the year, a figure no other stallion can match. His four G1 winners are headed by wide-margin scorer Ghaiyyath, who lines up in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday.
