Tuesday, 1 October saw new winners for first-season sires Brazen Beau and Night Of Thunder.
Newyorkstateofmind became winner number ten for Brazen Beau when gaining a well deserved first victory in Kempton’s five-furlong Nursery. Showing excellent pace from a wide draw, he led just over a furlong from home and ran on well to win by nearly two lengths.
Bred by M E Broughton, Newyorkstateofmind has now finished first or second in four of his six career starts.
Night Of Thunder sired winner number 23 when the John Weld-bred colt Cacciante impressed on his second career start in Rome. After a debut second, he had little difficulty going one place better by two and a half lengths.
Night Of Thunder stands alone amongst first-season sires with an impressive 63% winners to runners. He has sired three Group or Stakes winners: Under The Stars, Molatham and Thunderous.
