Too Darn Hot, who was crowned European Champion Juvenile last season, won his second straight G1 as a three-year-old when victorious in the Sussex Stakes over a mile at Goodwood. The brilliant son of Dubawi came into the race on the back of an easy triumph in the Prix Jean Prat at Deauville, and after taking an early position in third, he cruised into contention under jockey Frankie Dettori. Briefly short of room two furlongs from home, he switched round Circus Maximus and quickened well to record a half a length triumph.
In nine career starts, Too Darn Hot has won six races and never finished outside the first three. He was an unbeaten Champion juvenile last season after victories in the G1 Dewhurst Stakes, G2 Champagne Stakes and G3 Solario Stakes.
Owned and bred by Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber, Too Darn Hot is out of the G1-winning Singspiel mare Dar Re Mi. His full-sisters So Mi Dar and Lah Ti Dar are both G1-placed Stakes winners. He will join the Darley stallion roster at the end of his racing career.
Dubawi has sired a world leading 26 individual Stakes winners in 2019 including 18 that have scored at Group level. Too Darn Hot, Coronet and Wild Illusion have all won at the highest level and his ten G2 winners include the highly rated Ghaiyyath.
