A day after Dubawi sired a Group race treble, his four-year-old son The Revenant stepped up in class to win at his first attempt at Stakes level with ease. Lightly raced for his age, he was only having his sixth career start in the Listed Prix Altipan and after being held up in the one mile contest at Saint-Cloud, he swept to the front to win well by two-and-a-half lengths.
Owned and bred by Al Asayl Bloodstock, The Revenant is the first Stakes winner bred by the Excellent Art mare Hazel Lavery, who won the G3 St Simon Stakes in 2012.
Dubawi has now sired ten Stakes winners in 2019, more than any sire in the world. This includes a Group race treble yesterday through Old Persian and Muntazah in Dubai and Ball Of Muscle in Australia.
