Bivouac proved himself a worthy member of one of Godolphin’s best Australian families with a comfortable victory in the Listed Lonhro Plate at Warwick Farm on Saturday, 9 February.
Given a perfect ride by Blake Shinn, the son of Exceed And Excel quickly rounded up the leaders at the 150m and was untroubled to defeat Cosmic Force.
The win makes the talented son of Exceed And Excel his sire’s 155th Stakes winner and adds to an already illustrious pedigree.
Bivouac is out of the More Than Ready mare Dazzler, making him a brother to Godolphin’s Coruscate, a city winner who is also Group placed, and a three-quarter brother to the dual-G1 wnner Guelph (Exceed And Excel).
Dazzler’s dam Camarilla won the G1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes and also produced the G2 winner Ghibellines (Shamardal).
Her dam Camarena achieved the rare G1 double of the Queensland Derby and Oaks and has produced seven foals to races, all of them winners.
Exceed And Excel stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €50,000, Oct 1, SLF.
