All nine of the Darley stallions in France will be on show on Sunday, 21 January as Haras du Logis throws open its doors to visitors from 10.30am-4pm as part of Normandy’s Route des Etalons.
Champion juvenile Ultra (Manduro) is among those on show. Winner of the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere in record time, Ultra stands his first season at stud this year at a fee of €7,000 Oct 1 Special Live Foal.
Ultra’s sire Manduro enjoyed another stand-out season in 2017 with his outstanding son Vazirabad adding another G1 victory to his tally. Manduro, who also stands at €7,000 Oct 1 Special Live Foal, is off to a flying start this year with his daughter Plein Air taking a Stakes race in the US last weekend.
Australian Champion two-year-old Sidestep (Exceed And Excel), who has safely returned from his shuttle stint, and triple G1 winner Hunter’s Light (Dubawi), both have their first yearlings this year. Hunter’s Light’s fellow Club stallion Bow Creek (Shamardal) welcomes his first foals in the coming months. The trio all stand for €4,000 Oct 1 Special Live Foal, as does the ever-consistent Slickly.
Authorized, who sired another G1 winner in 2017 with Pounamu in Australia, heads the Logis roster at €12,000 Oct 1 Special Live Foal, while Rio de la Plata, sire of three Stakes winners from his small first two crops, will stand for €5,000 Oct 1 Special Live Foal.
Rounding out the roster is the superbly-bred Masterstroke (Monsun), who got off the mark last year with his first juveniles.
