Mr Stunning (Exceed And Excel) confirmed his position as one of Hong Kong’s leading sprinters on Sunday, 19 November with a convincing win in the G2 Jockey Club Sprint at Sha Tin.
Settled off the pace early on in the six-furlong contest, Mr Stunning had to come wide around the final turn but once asked for his effort, eased to the front and soon moved clear to win by a length and a half.
This was his second win at this level in less than a month, following his victory in the G2 Premier Bowl over the same course and distance on 22 October. He will now head for the G1 Hong Kong Sprint on Sunday, 10 December.
Bred by Makybe Racing and Breeding, Mr Stunner is a son of the Dayjur mare With Fervour, who has bred five winners in Europe, Asia and Australasia. With Fervour is a daughter of the three-time US G1 winner Fran’s Valentine.
Mr Stunning is the second Stakes winner of the weekend for Exceed And Excel, whose two-year-old son Al Hasa won the Listed Welcome Stakes by six lengths at Riccarton in New Zealand yesterday.
