Exceed And Excel’s three-year-old son Highland Beat flew home to claim the Listed A.R. Creswick Series Final Stakes over six furlongs at Flemington on 9 July to earn his first victory at Stakes level.
The $140,000 Magic Millions graduate showed impressive speed in the final stages of the race as he charged down the outside of the course to secure a dominant win ahead of Hay Bale.
Bred by Glenlogan Park Pty Ltd, Highland Beat is the sole winner out of Stakes-placed mare Highland Daughter, herself a half-sister to Champion Ryan.
Exceed And Excel is the sire of over 130 individual Stakes winners and 13 this year alone, including Mr Stunning who won the G2 Sprint Cup in Hong Kong and two-year-old Royal Ascot Stakes winner Sound And Silence.
