The consistent Greg Pass, a five-year-old son of Raven’s Pass, landed his fifth Stakes contest on Monday 17 April when taking the 1600m Premio Natale di Roma by a length. Already the winner of two Group races and two Listed contests, three of which were in 2016, Greg Pass takes his record to eight victories in 16 career starts.
Bred by Valdirone Soc Ag Sas Di Lualdi Lucia & C, Greg Pass is one of three Stakes performers produced by the St Jovite mare Baranja. She has had six winners from her first six foals to race including the G1-placed juvenile Billy Budd (Shamardal).
Raven’s Pass, who is standing at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €12,000 October 1st SLF, is enjoying an excellent start to 2017. He is also sire this year of three-time Group winning colt Big Duke in Australia, French G3-winning filly Via Ravenna, while in the US he has G3 filly Darkwingsoverdubai.
