Ultra, a four-year-old son of Manduro, showed his class at Maisons-Laffitte on Monday 10 April when running out a very easy winner of the Listed Prix Jacques Laffitte. An unbeaten juvenile in 2015 highlighted with a triumph in the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere, he was always travelling with ease and only had to be nudged out to the line to win well in the nine-furlong contest.
Out of the Nashwan mare Epitome, Ultra is a half-brother to six winners including the G3 winner Synopsis and from the top family of Lammtarra. Epitome also has a Raven’s Pass yearling filly, a colt foal by Dubawi born in February and she has been scanned in foal to the same stallion this season.
Manduro, who is standing this season at a fee of €7,000, has sired 28 Stakes winners including star stayer Vazirabad, who won the Dubai Gold Cup for the second successive year at Meydan last month, French juvenile G1 winner Mandaean and top-flight winning fillies Charity Line and Ribbons.
