First to salute the judge on Saturday was Manduro’s four-year-old son Olympic Fluke, who landed the G3 Grande Premio Enio Buffolo by half-a-length at Cidade Jardim. Out of the winning Theatrical mare Just Pray he was bred by Haras Regina and was recording his fourth career triumph.
A day later at Gavea, and also over a mile-and-a-half, Leonidas Da Silva recorded a victory in the G2 Grande Premio Antonio Joaquim Peixoto de Castro Jr. Matching his paternal half-brothers half-a-length victory, he was bred by Stud Correas and is out of the Val de Grace mare Rastacuera.
Manduro has now sired 15 Stakes performers on the season including leading French stayer Vazirabad, G2 filly Techno Queen, and a trio of Stakes winning three-year-old fillies in Wanderina, Plein Air and Red Stars.
