Tattersalls three day October Book 1 Yearling sale concluded on Thursday, producing an enviable record for Dubawi, who sired the top lot on each and every day. The highlight for the final day was undoubtably Lot 427, a colt out of G1 heroine Zee Zee Top consigned by Meon Valley Stud, who was knocked down to Shadwell Stud for 2.6m gns, matching the total received for Dubawi’s day one purchase out of G1W Fallen For You. A half-brother to G1W Izzi Top and from the family of Champion’s Kayf Tara and Opera House, Angus Gold was very glowing about his new purchase “He’s a beautiful colt who looked an athlete”.
Dubawi finished the sale as easily the top stallion with an overall average of 972,667 gns with four yearlings topping the million mark.
Concluding the sale with an average way over 300,000 gns, Shamardal also enjoyed a fruitful final day with his daughter out of Yummy Mummy (lot 422) fetching 870,000 gns to Blandford Bloodstock. A half-sister to Champion filly Legatissimo, she hails from the extended family of Farhh.
It proved to be a very successful sale for Darley stallions, with 12 averaging more than 100,000 gns including first-season sires Dawn Approach and Epaulette, both of which are heavily represented next week with over 30 lots catalogued in Books 2 and 3.
