Sepoy’s two-year-old daughter Kilmah has been an exciting prospect for her sire this year, winning convincingly on her debut before finishing second in the Princess Margaret Stakes at Royal Ascot. On 27 August, she gained a well-deserved first Black type win with an impressive victory in the G3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood.
Sent straight the front under Franny Norton, the Mark Johnston-trained filly dictated the pace throughout the seven-furlong contest and despite being hard pressed close to home by Promising, ran on superbly to win by a neck.
Kilmah was bred by Mildmay Bloodstock Ltd and is out of the Stakes-winning mare Perfect Star (Act One), who is dam of two winners (and two Black type performers) from two foals to race.
Sepoy is also sire of French Stakes winner and G3-placed filly Baileys Showgirl, plus three further Black type performers in his native southern hemisphere.
