Quest For More (Teofilo) gained a well-deserved first Group win on 19 August when leading from pillar to post to land the G2 Lonsdale Cup.
Employing a new race tactic, jockey George Baker sent his mount immediately to the front and was never headed, seeing off the challenges of both Pallasator and Wicklow Brave to win by three and a half lengths.
Quest For More now has seven career victories to his name, including last year’s Northumberland Plate. He has also been Stakes-placed twice this year (both time at York), finishing second in the Grand Cup and third in the John Smith’s Silver Cup.
Bred by Epona Bloodstock Limited, Quest For More is out of the Rainbow Quest mare No Quest, also dam of Group winner and G1-placed runner Macaw. The mare is herself a half-sister to G1 French 2,000 Guineas winner No Pass No Sale.
Teofilo is enjoying a successful year, siring six horses who have won or placed at G1 level, headed by Al Maktoum Challenge R3 hero Special Fighter and Australian Guineas winner Palentino.
Teofilo also proved popular at the recent Arqana August Yearling Sale, averaging a very healthy €252,500.
