Barrio de Serra, a four-year-old son of Manduro, landed his biggest race to date on Saturday 7 August when taking the G3 Grande Premio Presidente da Associacao Brasileira de Criadores e Proprietarios do Cavalo de Corrida over a mile at Cidade Jardim. Already the winner of a course and distance Listed race, he was always in the front rank and ran on well to the line to win by half-a-length.
Bred by Stud Eternamente Rio, Barao da Serra is the best runner to date out of the winning Ghadeer mare Preservation.
Barao da Serra is the second Group winner for Manduro from his Brazilian crops after the multiple G1 scorer Braco Forte. He has also sired five other G1 winners from his European crops including French stars Vazirabad and Ultra.
