Baileys Showgirl, a juvenile daughter of Sepoy, broke her maiden in style on Tuesday 28 June when running out the very easy three length winner of a six furlong maiden at Hamilton Park. Making her second career start after an unfortunate debut at Chelmsford where she lost all chance when rearing as the stalls opened, she was always prominent and only had to be nudged out to win with authority.
Bred in France by Ecurie des Monceaux, Baileys Showgirl is a half-sister to four winners including the French Stakes-winner Tribune. Her dam, the Stakes-placed War Chant mare Tanguista, is related to the English and Irish Champion Mrs Penny.
Sepoy, who sits second in the Australian first-season sire table, has already sired in Europe the impressive Newmarket winner Kilmah, who ran well in the G3 Albany Stakes Royal Ascot and now heads to Newmarket for a G2 next week, and the Curragh and Ascot debutant place-getters Khukri and Deningy, both of whom shaped with considerable promise.
