Aquila Solitaria, a two-year-old daughter of Raven’s Pass, recorded her first Stakes win and second career victory in style on 25 October when running out the easy winner of the Listed Premio Ubaldo Pandolfi in Rome.
Settled just off the early pace, Aquila Solitaria made her move as the field entered the final two furlongs and once in front, quickened clear in impressive fashion to win the six-furlong contest by three and a half lengths.
Bred by Incolinx di Romeo Diego, the filly is out of the G3 winner and multiple Listed winner Alta Fedelta (Oasis Dream) and is from the family of smart sprinter Baron’s Pit.
Raven’s Pass, who was recently responsible for the sales topper at the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale when his half-sister to Echo Of Light sold for €2 million, is also sire this year of Group winners Kataniya and Malabar, plus fellow Stakes winners Riflescope, Greg Pass and Secret Number.
