Superior performance for Balty Boys
Balty Boys, a tremendously tough son of Cape Cross, landed his biggest success of his career when taking the G3 Superior Mile at Haydock Park. Second in the corresponding race last season, he has been plying his trade with great credit all season in top handicaps and was today recording his seventh career victory.
Bred by Lynn Lodge Stud, Balty Boys is one of two winners bred out of the winning Elusive Quality mare Chatham Islands, who is herself a sister to Group winner Time Prisoner and a half-sister to G2 juvenile filly Pearl Grey.
Cape Cross, who is fast closing in on 100 individual Stakes winners (currently on 99), has enjoyed a very fruitful 2105 through the exploits of his Derby winning son Golden Horn, who is due to contest the Irish Champion Stakes next weekend.
