Unbeaten Dubawi filly adds her first Group victory
Dubawi’s juvenile daughter Tanaza won her maiden in convincing style at Leopardstown last month and on 23 July she successfully stepped up in class to win the seven-furlong G3 Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown.
Racing in mid-division under Pat Smullen, Tanaza was asked for her effort entering the final two furlongs and demonstrated an impressive turn of foot to cruise to the front and win by a length and a quarter.
Trainer Dermot Weld indicated after the race that she will now head for the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes, due to take place on 13 September.
Owned and bred by HH The Aga Khan, Tanaza is out of the Stakes-winning, G2-placed Dalakhani mare Tanoura.
She becomes the 18th Group winner this year alone for world leader Dubawi, who is also sire of an astounding eight G1 winners so far in 2015.
