Group win for Erupt
Erupt ran the perfect trial for the G1 Grand Prix de Paris when landing the G3 Prix du Lys on Sunday June 14, in the process remaining unbeaten in a three race career. Only making his debut in April of this year, the three-year-old son of Dubawi came into this race on a back of a victory in the Listed Coupe des Trois Ans at Lyon Parilly.
A Niarchos Family homebred, Erupt is a son of the G3-winning dam Mare Nostrum (Caerleon), who was also placed in the G1 Prix Saint-Alary and G1 Prix Vermeille. Mare Nostrum has produced four winners to date including the Stakes-winner Marie de Medici (already the dam of G3 UAE Oaks winner Local Time) and Cape Cross’s multiple winner Roman Republic.
Dubawi is having a banner year with Erupt becoming his 16th Group winner of 2015. He leads all other worldwide stallions by G1 winners, Group winners and Stakes winners, with his seven top-flight scorers headed by Night Of Thunder, Prince Bishop, New Bay and Al Kazeem.
